Contribute to implementing Sydney Water’s Net Zero Carbon Plan by 2030 Work life balance – Flexible working options from North Head, Potts Hill and 2 days Work from home An exciting permanent opportunity to join the Energy & Recovered Resources Team in project delivery and maintenance programming for Sydney Water’s Renewable Energy Assets - including Cogeneration units, Hydroelectric turbines and solar installations. Managing interfaces between Operations, Project teams and contractors for Renewable Energy Projects. The role will focus on both new projects and the major period maintenance program, ensuring our renewable energy generators continue to play a vital role in support of Sydney Water’s Net Zero Carbon strategy. You will also contribute to the production of renewable energy by Sydney Water from biogas co-generation together with hydro and solar electricity generation, working alongside specialist project, operations and maintenance teams. We currently generate up to 20% of Sydney Water’s electricity needs and it is an exciting time of growth as we contribute to implementing Sydney Water’s Net Carbon Zero Plan by 2030. Responsibilities: Lead the effective interface between the Plant Operations and Project Team through all project phases for major projects from Project Initiation through to Close Out and Handover in accordance with approved Sydney Water Processes/Standards. Ensure project scope is well defined and coordinated with input from relevant stakeholders to meet Renewable Energy performance objectives (e.g. Contractors, Reliability Engineer, Production Hubs). Make day to day decisions on project interface matters to keep the project on budget and schedule whilst minimising impact on operations. Foresee potential issues and challenges that may impact major projects by regular coordination with other interfacing capital and maintenance projects. Ensure all audits, site inspections and observations are completed by self and the team, to a high level of quality and the outcomes shared within the Delivery Management Sydney Water community. Experience and Qualifications: 5+ years professional experience in plant operations/management. Demonstrated experience in leading the planning and delivery of the operational aspects of complex projects. Developed project/program management skills and knowledge, including preparation of operational interface objectives, schedules, risk management plans and resource management. Demonstrated experience in planning and/or managing the operational integration of medium to small engineering infrastructure projects. Effective oral and written communication skills including advanced negotiation skills and proven ability in preparation of written reports, procedures, project communication plans, recommendations, and proposals. Essential Requirements: Degree in Engineering or relevant discipline, or relevant experience. Formal qualifications in Leadership or Project Management desirable. Additional Knowledge and Skills: Relevant valid driver's licence required.
