Job Description As Project Officer, Refugee-Background Student Support Program (RBSSP), you’ll take on complex local and global challenges, using your skills and experience to drive meaningful change. Here’s how you’ll make it matter: Engage and build relationships with students with refugee backgrounds to co-design and establish an ongoing program of support and action. This will include event management, resource development, community-building and practical supports that will assist other students with refugee backgrounds. Analyse insights shared by students and prepare assessment and evaluation reports on data for consideration in the design and delivery of service responses. Build relationships with key stakeholders within Griffith University. Investigate the supports, strengths and opportunities that currently exist at Griffith, and explore the priorities, needs, and gaps in services for students’ refugee backgrounds. Coordinate the implementation and integration of project resources, including working with key stakeholders. This includes the development of relevant documentation, recommendations, and reports. Have an understanding of the challenges experienced by people with a refugee background living in Australia and the implications this has for their educational opportunities. Preference will be given to candidates who have lived experience of being a refugee. What we can offer This is a two-year fixed term part-time position (50%), primarily based at Griffith University Logan, but with responsibilities across all campuses. As Griffith is a multi-site University you may be required to work across other locations.Griffith University’s campuses are located on the lands of the Yugarabul, Yuggera, Jagera, Turrbal, Yugambeh and Kombumerri peoples. Salary Range This is a part-time position at 50% . The full time equivalent base salary will be HEW Level 6 range $89,603 - $95,575 per annum + 17% superannuation. The total FTE package will be in the range $104,835 - $111,823 per annum (your salary will be pro rata at .05 FTE) Qualifications Completion of a relevant degree qualification or directly applicable work experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education and training with proven project management experience or qualifications.
