About the role Based at our Port Kembla Operation you will be responsible for the delivery to plan of a wide variety of exciting multi-discipline capital projects that range from small procurement projects to brownfields plant upgrades to major maintenance activities. This role will also support senior Project Managers in supervising complex multi-million dollar infrastructure builds. Your Project Supervision skill set will be tested to the full in this client side role. As a project professional you will be required to support our assets and functions by safely executing projects from their inception to their conclusion. This will be done while maintaining a transparent and stakeholder inclusive communications program. This is a diverse, challenging, yet satisfying role, where you will not only be delivering and supporting projects in a resource constrained environment across a large geographically area, you will also be managing a broad range of internal and external stakeholders. About your experience Our successful candidate will have project supervision and administrative experience in supporting and delivering construction projects in any industry. Other highly desirable attributes include: Project management experience, including management of site staff, contractors, budgets, project expenditure, schedules, safety, compliance and project records in an industrial construction environment. Your skill set could be from a design, site engineering or maintenance background with experience in on-site management of contractors and project activities. A demonstrated ability to effectively manage and resolve issues that arise during all phases of projects. Proven ability to meet deadlines (time management). A demonstrated ability to implement Health and Safety Management Principles into execution of works. Engineering background (degree or trade qualified). Exceptional communication skills – both written and verbal. A willingness to travel - projects will be primarily based at Port Kembla but will also involve travel within country NSW. Computer literacy skills (MS suite including MS Project, Excel and Word). Experience in any of the following will be looked upon favourably: ports, materials handling, rail, bulk earthworks, electrical upgrades or food processing projects. Finally, you should be willing and able to travel in the role: 1-2 day trips/month during planning phase; 2 days/week for a few consecutive weeks during construction phase.
