Project Technical Lead 12 month contract with Government Your new company Our client is a government-owned organisation providing safe, secure, efficient and environmentally responsible services to the aviation industry. The opportunity exists for a Project Technical Lead for a 12-month contract. Contract Daily rate Government Your new role The Fire Alarm Monitoring System (FAMS) is the primary mechanism for monitoring fire alarms at airports with Aviation Rescue Fire Fighting services across Australia. As Project Technical Lead, you will be responsible for the technical readiness of the FAMS system, and its integration into the overall FCCMS. Act as the FAMS Project single point of contact for technical matters regarding FAMS technical requirements, design and acceptance, and for all engineering and technical matters. Develop, maintain and ensure delivery according to the FAMS System Engineering Management Plan (SEMP) and Test and Evaluation Management Plan (TEMP). Develop and manage the delivery of the FAMS technical implementation plan, including technical verification, acceptance and cutover from existing to the future state system. Manage the conduct of engineering review gates for the FAMS Project, including arranging 3rd party participation as required. Manage engagement of SMEs to support the FAMS Project throughout design, development, test, installation and verification activities. Oversee the FAMS Project's site installation, set-to-work, test and verification activities. Manage the technology change process, ensuring effective configuration management and change control. Identify, report and mitigate delivery risks associated with the technical aspects of the project. Act as a trusted technology advisor within the FAMS project and to senior technical and management stakeholders. Provide technical leadership and guidance as required, including safety and security guidance. Perform systems engineering and project tasks throughout acquisition and implementation phases in accordance with safety and system management policies, frameworks, guidelines and procedures. What you'll need to succeed Open to Australian citizens and Australian Permanent Residents. A degree in Engineering or Information Technology from an Australian tertiary institution or certified equivalent qualification (for overseas qualifications). A sound understanding of and demonstrated experience applying Systems Engineering practices throughout the SDLC and system management processes. Extensive experience in the design, development, testing and implementation of robust and reliable software systems, including quality assurance and configuration management. Extensive experience in managing the delivery of technical solutions within a project construct, including adherence to time, cost and quality constraints. Strong documentation skills with experience in preparing and reviewing solution architecture documents and system design documents, including alignment to strategies and existing initiatives.
