Goulburn Valley Water (GVW) provides quality water and wastewater services to 54 towns in North Central Victoria. Our core purpose is to deliver safe, reliable and affordable water services to residential, commercial and industrial customers. Based in Shepparton, the role of Project Works Auditor (Fixed Term – 12 months) in our Asset & Project Delivery team will see you responsible for ensuring site-based activities and assets associated with the Corporation’s projects are being completed to accepted standards. A confident operator, with a keen eye for detail and a skillset to determine opportunities and problems, you will predominantly spend your time on site conducting audits to ensure effective project quality, environmental and safety systems, and ultimately successful project outcomes. Critical to this role is your ability to effectively engage and communicate with a range of stakeholders including working collaboratively with Project Managers to continuously improve project results and performance. About your new role… No one day will be the same in this role where you will work across our geographically spread footprint from Cobram in the North, Alexandra in the East and down the South Western corridor that includes Seymour. Strengths in organising and prioritising your daily workload allows you to carry out the necessary administrative functions and inspections on several work sites in an efficient and effective manner. Reporting to the Team Leader – Project Works Auditor, you will be well supported in your new team whose collective goal is to ensure our Corporation’s projects and assets are delivered to the required quality, in a safe, timely and cost-efficient manner. Safety is critical in all we do, so your desire to ensure projects and contracts are delivered safely is paramount. About you… To be considered for this role you must have demonstrated some of the following: Certificate 4 in Construction/Project Management, or equivalent is essential Construction Induction Card (Red Card) An understanding of the Water Industry On site experience inspecting, supervising and auditing civil construction activities Understanding of construction site quality, safety and environmental systems Demonstrated ability to work effectively with computer-based technology, including Microsoft Office, Construction Auditing or Management Systems Competency in survey practice and the operation of survey instruments Experience in the construction of infrastructure, including the ability to read construction plans An understanding of asset and construction codes, including the Water Supply & Sewerage code of Australia Excellent communication and interpersonal skills across all levels, enabling effortless ability to liaise with various stakeholders Ability to work across multiple work sites, prioritise work and adhere to deadlines Contribute to setting the standard for a safe workplace and lead safe work practices Ability to work autonomously with a high standard of accuracy and manage your time effectively Strong organisational, self-management and problem-solving skills. Willing to travel to project locations across the GVW region Please note all applicants must be an Australian Citizen, permanent resident or a visa permitting you to work in Australia and hold a current driver’s licence.
