About the Role & Company Perth Heavy Haulage Pty Ltd is a WA based family owned and operated transport company currently located in South Guildford but moving to our brand new workshop in Neerabup early March 2025. At Perth Heavy Haulage we provide reliable and efficient Heavy Haulage transport solutions throughout Australia. Due to our expanding fleet, we are looking for an additional Qualified Diesel Mechanic to join our small friendly team immediately. Australian Citizens / Residents need only to apply as no Sponsorship is offered for this position. What you'll be doing Performing routine maintenance and repairs on a variety of heavy vehicles and equipment, including trucks, trailers, and specialised machinery. Diagnosing and troubleshooting complex mechanical issues to ensure the fleet is kept in top-notch condition. Carrying out inspections, servicing, and overhauls as per manufacturer specifications and industry standards. Maintaining detailed records of work performed and parts used. Collaborating with the wider team to identify and implement process improvements. Adhering to all relevant safety protocols and environmental regulations. What we're looking for A recognised qualification in Heavy Diesel Mechanics, with experience within the Transport industry being highly desirable. Minimum 3 years demonstrated experience. Exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and work independently. Strong knowledge of heavy vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, differentials, and hydraulics. Proficiency in the use of diagnostic equipment and tools. A valid driver's licence - HR licence highly desired. A commitment to safety and a proactive approach to continuous improvement. Vehicles and Equipment Worked On: Trailers: Drake, MTE & Kennedy Low Loaders, Drop Decks. Dollys: Drake, MTE, Lusty & Kennedy. Small Equipment: Excavators, Loaders, Passenger Vehicles, Custom Trailers, Sweepers. What we offer Generous hourly flat rate. Company work vehicle with fuel card.
