Job Description About this opportunity We specialise in the manufacture and supply of rigid plastic and metal packaging servicing for the consumer and industrial sectors. As Quality and Environmental Manager located at our Truganina site, you will ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of the Quality & Environment Management System across the locations for the Industrial packaging division. The QE Manager is responsible for monitoring and driving compliance to meet the required certification and PACT Group requirements. Working under the direction of the Operations Manager, this role addresses quality and environmental concerns while facilitating solutions that lead to zero harm with high levels of customer satisfaction and reduced plant costs. Your key responsibilities will be to: Ensure that the Quality Management System conforms to Customer, PACT, ISO 9001, HACCP and other certification, regulatory and legal requirements. Report on the performance of the QMS including the need for improvement. Conduct management review meetings and work closely with customers, employees and external contractors to ensure requirements are met. Maintain quality standards, specifications and process control plans to facilitate the manufacture of packaging that meets customer expectations. Ensure Quality assurance procedures are implemented throughout the process and audit for compliance. Maintain the program for timely and accurate inspection/calibration of monitoring and measuring devices. Lead the investigation of internal and external quality incidents and CAR’s, ensuring timely reporting, effectiveness of preventative actions and timely close out. Ensure all relevant staff associated with manufacturing are trained in key quality activities and processes. Mentor the team to continually improve the quality culture. Ensure compliance with Workplace Health and Safety policies and procedures. Identify opportunities to build relationships with internal staff, customers, certification bodies and suppliers to help achieve quality goals. Identify changes to production specifications in accordance with best quality outcomes. Your skills and experience To be successful in this role, you’ll have: Solid experience as a Quality Manager in a manufacturing environment. Demonstrated experience in managing sites certified to at least one of the following standards: ISO9001, FSSC 22000, HACCP. Demonstrated people leadership to drive quality improvements with a collaborative and enabling approach. Demonstrated experience in leading Quality/Environmental incident investigation, RCCA and resolution management. Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills. Well developed written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks and manage competing deadlines. Driven and results orientated in line with company values. Visible belief and proactive leadership in the PACT Safe and Quality culture. Qualifications Tertiary qualifications in Science, Manufacturing, Engineering or a minimum of 3 years Quality Management experience. Possess accreditation or relevant experience in conducting internal audits. HACCP/ Food Safety accreditation or relevant experience desirable.
