Quantity Surveyor | Estimator - Contracts Admin. The Company MPL Group is thrilled to collaborate with our client, a prominent leader in commercial construction specializing in Design and Construct projects across Southeast Queensland. They have consistently delivered innovative solutions across various sectors, including Residential, Commercial, Industrial, and Retail Construction. With a robust pipeline of work, thanks to their success in securing projects—mostly from repeat clients—they are now seeking a talented Quantity Surveyor/Estimator to join their team. The initial requirements for this role include assisting the projects team in delivering current projects with single contracts valued at approximately $30 million and more. As a (QS) Estimator, you will provide high-quality service to ensure that project expectations are met and exceeded. Responsibilities include but not limited to: Manage all pre-contract activities, cost planning, and the subcontract and head contract processes. Negotiate and review tenders for subcontract and head contracts, including preparing tender comparison documents for review. Prepare, check, and review subcontract packages, scopes of work, lettings, and procurement schedules. Monitor subcontractors to ensure compliance with environmental commitments and responsibilities. Understand and manage the contractual risks associated with subcontractors. Process progress claims, delay claims, and external variations in accordance with contractual obligations. Prepare project budgets for review and provide accurate rolling forecasts for final accounts. Assist in the preparation and administration of project completion and inspection test plans. Qualifications and Requirements: Tertiary qualification in Construction, Engineering Demonstrate proven experience in cost planning across relevant ECI, and DNC projects from residential, commercial, industrial, and retail, with contracts up to and over $30M+ being preferred Proven local knowledge in managing subcontract tendering incl. hard dollar, standards, and procedures Sound understanding of overall construction programmes and plans Able to identify key obligations Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to build rapport at all levels Proficient in relevant software packages incl.
