Responsibilities - Support the GemLife Group and its related entities in maintaining high standards of financial integrity and accountability. Be responsible for providing financial management and oversight of construction projects encompassing establishment, pricing of minor change proposals, monthly reporting, and compliance with company policies and procedures. The GemLife development managers will always maintain overall knowledge of the key cost drivers at each site to ensure performance to expectation, but the person in this role has an oversight of all budgets and spend and is responsible for providing cost control technical expertise through timely monitoring, controlling, analysing, and reporting of project cost & progress information with a strong focus on trending, forecasting, and management of change to proactively influence cost outcomes on the project. Also responsible for maintaining, controlling, and reporting project expenditure, cost forecasts, and schedules of site work activities of major projects allocated to the Development and Project Managers. Qualifications - A qualification in Business Management, Quantity Surveying, Accounting, or equivalent relative work experience. CPA or CA qualification is highly regarded. At least 5 years’ experience within a cost control or finance role, with exposure to project accounting/job costing within a construction organisation. Demonstrated experience in developing systems, procedures, and leading improvement initiatives. Exceptional analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills. Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills. Liaison with both internal and external stakeholders. A people-focused communication style, building relationships, negotiating with, and influencing a range of stakeholders is how you get things done. Experience with a cost management tool is essential and exposure to Databuild and Technology One would be a distinct advantage – however, training will be provided for the right individual.
