CommTel Network solutions is seeking applications from qualified and experienced Technology & Engineering Managers to join our team in Melbourne. 07th March, 2025 The Business CommTel Network Solutions is a leading international provider of advanced engineering solutions for mission and business critical networks. The Role Reporting directly to the Business Manager - Rapid Site Solutions, the Technology & Engineering Manager will be responsible for leading the adoption, development, and integration of innovative technologies within our engineering department. The Technology & Engineering Manager’s day-to-day responsibilities will include: Research and identify new technologies that meet the future needs of our customers while providing a competitive edge and/or improve production efficiency. Develop and drive the roadmap process for integrating new technologies into existing systems and future products. Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure technology initiatives align with business goals and priorities. Understand technology trends and competing products on the market and develop new concepts that leverage and extend existing product suites, in alignment with industry needs and CommTel strategy. Identify requirements for new processes and standards and, working closely with CommTel’s Head of Engineering, contribute to the production and implementation of new standards, specifications and work practices. Manage the delivery of engineering services to the manufacturing facility and to Project Managers. Essential Requirements: Tertiary degree or higher in engineering in electronic/electrical, structural, civil and/or mechanical engineering. 10 years+ experience in design, engineering and delivering complex, integrated, multidiscipline telecommunications infrastructure projects. Solid understanding of AS/NZ Standards directly related to the design and development of Telecommunication and Power System infrastructures. Proven ability to assess technological trends, develop strategic roadmaps, and integrate new technologies effectively. Excellent decision-making, and analytical skills. Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision. High level of interpersonal, communication, consultation and negotiation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. High level attention to detail. Team orientated. Desirable Skills / Experience: Previous experience with Control System and/or Automation. Experience in end-to-end design, architecture, and manufacturing of telecommunications infrastructure solutions. Membership and Registration with Engineers Australia as a Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng). Experience in the transport, mining, utilities and/or emergency services industries. Systems Thinking: Understanding of how different parts of the project or system interconnect and work together. Familiarity with Engineering Tools: Proficiency in relevant software, tools, and technologies (e.g., CAD software, project management tools, programming languages).
