About the role: We’re looking for exceptional communicators who have the ability to interact with a diverse range of people to fill a full-time vacancy as a Recoveries & Settlement Officer. The working hours are 38 hours per week between 8:00am to 5:30pm Monday to Friday. Reporting to the Recoveries & Settlements Supervisor, your role will make a direct impact on the financial wellbeing of the company and our members. It is a highly proactive role that is incredibly rewarding and stimulating - you’ll love the challenge of negotiating with external parties and building technical knowledge of claims, insurance and litigation. You will negotiate, influence and persuade third parties to get the best recovery possible for our members who have incurred a loss from a claim. You’ll have the opportunity to watch as your actions on each Recovery Claim turn into clear outcomes - it’s incredibly satisfying to see your hard work pay off! You will also be working closely with members, external third parties, other insurers and our own claims team to provide an exceptional claims service which RACT is renowned for. You will also assist in the identification and implementation of initiatives that improve claims processes, net recovery results and customer service standards. What We’re Looking For: Minimum 2 years’ experience in a customer service environment or similar. Well-developed customer service and conflict resolution skills. Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, including ability to interact with people at all levels. Demonstrated ability to conduct research, gather evidence and analyse information to make effective decisions. Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving and decision-making capabilities. Demonstrated negotiation, settlement and finalisation skills. Very high level of confidentiality, discretion, and judgement. Energy and enthusiasm and be an engaged team player. Non-essential, but highly desirable requirements: Knowledge of the General Insurance industry and claims handling procedures. Understanding of legal process and relevant legislation (Financial Services Reform Act, Insurance Contracts Act, Insurance Code of Practice). At RACT, we’re not just a workplace – we’re a community.
