Security, Emergency and Recovery Management Location: Adelaide, CBD Salary Range: $127,859 Classification: MAS300 Duration: Up to 21 months Closing Date: 25 Feb 2025 Role Highlights Innovative Policy Development: Shape policies and drive change in a new team High-Impact Collaboration: Work with diverse teams across government Meaningful Impact: Support the delivery of vital recovery programs post-disaster Role Details The Security, Emergency and Recovery Management team at the Department of the Premier and Cabinet is seeking a dynamic Recovery Programs Manager to lead the Recovery Program Management Office (R-PMO) and oversee the successful delivery of funding outcomes for South Australian disaster recovery programs under the Australian Government Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA). The Manager will play a key role in establishing a new team, driving significant policy changes, and implementing processes to enhance the delivery of disaster recovery programs in South Australia. The role will involve managing staff, overseeing the delivery of complex programs, coordinating stakeholders, and delivering results in compliance with funding guidelines. Special Conditions The Incumbent will be required to participate in the department's Performance Management Program. The Incumbent may be assigned to another position at this remuneration level or equivalent. This role requires a National Criminal History check. This role requires a Security Clearance (Negative Vetting Level 1). All Security, Emergency and Recovery Management (SERM) staff are required to participate in the State Crisis Centre during exercises and incidents and be on the on-call roster for the State Crisis Centre and State Emergency Centre. Out-of-hours work and interstate travel may be required, and there may be limitations on annual leave during the high risk disaster season. About the Business Security, Emergency and Recovery Management (SERM) provides leadership, advice and guidance for the State’s national security and emergency management governance and policy arrangements. SERM also guides the co-ordination and delivery of whole of Government recovery interventions across a disaster event. They support both the immediate operational and the longer-term considerations and consequences of the disaster event through recovery program planning. SERM advises and supports the Premier through the Emergency Management Act 2004, supports the Chief Executive as Chair of the State Emergency Management Committee (SEMC), supports the SEMC in achieving their strategic directions and legislated requirements, is the custodian of the State Emergency Management Plan, represents South Australia on national committees and oversees the SA Government protective security policy.
