Western’s Young & Resilient Research Centre is seeking an experienced Senior Communications Officer to join their collaborative team.In this critical role, you will be responsible for supporting and, in some instances, leading internal and external communications across the Young & Resilient Research Centre to ensure effective promotion of our research and expertise. Your role will involve updating, maintaining, and creating engaging content for our website, social media, and other digital channels. You will contribute to the organisation of events and support the design of reports and presentations. You will play a key role in maintaining and updating our communications and impact databases, preparing materials, coordinating meetings, and providing secretariat support for Centre-wide meetings and events. You will be essential in implementing external communication strategies that align with the Centre’s goals and objectives. Additionally, you will ensure that all communications materials consistently uphold and enhance our brand identity. As a Senior Communications Officer, you will work closely with the Centre team and benefit from additional skills mentoring from your colleagues. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a vibrant and innovative research environment while advancing your career in communications.This is a full-time, ongoing position based at Parramatta South Campus, although travel to other campuses of the University may be required.About You You hold an undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline, complemented by professional communications training and experience, or equivalent experience in a research communications role. Your highly developed communication skills enable you to create and implement effective strategies and plans, while producing engaging digital content. You excel at fostering professional relationships with both academic and professional staff across various divisions. You have a high level of oral and written communication skills and strong computer literacy. You can independently prioritise tasks, solve problems, monitor workflows and meet deadlines effectively.Working with Children Check It is a mandatory requirement for any incumbent of this position to have a current NSW Employee Working with Children Clearance in accordance with the NSW Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012.Why Join us?
