About Us Novita provides early intervention, rehabilitation, therapy, assistive technology and disability services to more than 5,000 people living with disability, as well as support for their families and carers. Our primary purpose is to enable kids, young people and adults living with disability and their families to participate in the community to their full potential. About the Role NovitaTech is the assistive technology division of Novita and we supply a wide range of mobility devices and maintenance services to our valued clients. NovitaTech's internal Technical Services business provides mobility products such as wheelchairs, hoists, walkers, etc. for both rental and sale. There is a new rental and refurbishment program providing used (pre-loved) mobility devices to clients who have an urgent need and may not qualify for NDIS funding. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, adjusting and repairing used mobility products and ensuring that the device is fit for purpose for a new client. This role will ideally suit a person with good hand tool skills and mechanical aptitude. Key Responsibilities: Repairs and maintenance to used assistive technology Preventative maintenance Ensuring the device is within the manufacturers operating guidelines Attention to detail and anticipating and resolving issues Able to work to deadlines Working in a small team environment We are looking for a resilient, passionate, outcomes-focused person with a ‘can-do’ attitude. Initiative, flexibility and commitment to service are essential. Experience in disability, aged or community service environments would be an advantage but not essential. This role is based at NovitaTech's new and fully fitted out workshop facility based in Croydon Park, Adelaide, South Australia. About You: Excellent mechanical hand tool skills and knowledge Ability to manage time and prioritize to deal with fluctuations in workload Ability to meet service objectives within resource constraints Ability to work effectively within a small and multi-disciplinary team Sound interpersonal skills and the ability to relate to internal and external stakeholders of the organisation Manual skills which are current and commensurate with a trade background and substantial experience in a position (or positions) requiring competencies relevant to the service, maintenance and the manufacture of mechanical equipment Experience and knowledge relevant to the practice of repairs and maintenance of pressure management devices, functional and specialised seating techniques and mobility systems (DESIRABLE ONLY) Familiarity with or competence related to the use and operation of personal computers Spare part stock management Able to follow Quality Assurance procedures and reporting Apply Now and make a difference!
