The Opportunity The role involves supporting regional government affairs teams in addressing digital safety regulations and public policy issues. It provides subject-matter expertise, drives thought leadership, and fosters collaboration with government, civil society, and tech industry stakeholders to enhance user safety. Reporting to the Digital Safety Unit, the position supports multidisciplinary initiatives and aligns with Microsoft's mission to empower people and organisations through innovation and a culture of respect, integrity, and inclusion. Your duties will include, but are not limited to: Trusted advisor to our client’s government affairs teams across the region, partnering to support regulatory and public policy engagement, including local engagements on safety. Monitoring digital safety regulatory and public policy developments, issue spotting, and providing internal insights on trends and developments. Leading engagement with external stakeholders (government, civil society, and other industry) to represent our client’s perspective, as well as to garner insights on trends and risks, and sharing readouts with internal stakeholders. Partner with a variety of our clients subject-matter experts (SMEs) in the Digital Safety Unit to support a range of activities, including input to regulatory governance processes, transparency reporting and regulator engagement. Leading engagement in relevant regional initiatives. Advancing our client thought leadership and proactive campaigns, including resource development and localisation. Build and manage strategic partner alliances and relationships as part of the integrated account and commercial plan. Candidate Requirements Bachelor of Laws OR equivalent experience. Expertise in digital safety topics, including child online safety, tech regulation, and partnership engagement. Experience in government relations or advocacy roles.
