Regional Director, North, Community CorrectionsSAES 1 | Critically Important Role | Rare Career Opportunity Our client, the Department for Correctional Services (DCS), is seeking a highly skilled Regional Director – Northern Region Community Corrections to join their Executive Team within the Community Corrections and Specialist Prisons Directorate. With approximately 2000 staff, DCS manages nine prisons and 15 Community Corrections Centres across SA. DCS’s vision is for a safer community by protecting the public and reducing reoffending. The rare and exciting opportunity involves leading the strategic agenda for the northern region. The position carries responsibility for policy development and implementation to ensure offender supervision through probation, parole, bail, community service, and home detention (including electronic monitoring), program design and delivery that supports rehabilitation and reduces reoffending, and delivering a comprehensive reporting framework to assist Courts, Prosecutions, and the Parole Board in sentencing and decision-making processes. The Regional Director will contribute significantly to the State Strategic Plan and DCS’s Strategic Plan which includes but is not limited to the Strong Foundations and Clear Pathways – Women’s Action Plan 2019-24 and the National Agreement on Closing the Gap to reduce the rate of Aboriginal adults incarcerated, with a commitment to a new target of reducing reoffending 20% by 2026 (20by26). An appropriate tertiary or post graduate qualification in Business Management, Human Services, Criminology or other relevant discipline is essential.
