Who we're looking for: This pivotal role will see you working for Victoria's largest contractor, contributing to some of the state's most iconic projects. In this dynamic and fast-paced position, you will manage a range of both frontend and contentious legal matters, providing expert advice on construction-related legal and contractual issues for projects across the region. To be successful, applicants will exhibit strong previous experience in the construction or projects field, gained at a major law firm or in-house. You will bring front-end construction experience and ideally a solid background in back-end operations, with a strong understanding of construction law, including PPPs, as well as familiarity with Australian standard form construction contracts. You should be ready to focus on several large, complex projects in delivery, supporting project teams with both downstream and upstream matters. Exceptional attention to detail, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships at all levels within the organisation is also essential. You will collaborate with a team of Regional Legal Counsel and report directly to the Global General Counsel. Additionally, you will engage closely with leadership teams on assigned projects and with the regional executive group, offering commercially driven solutions. This will involve participating in contract negotiations to secure favourable outcomes for Multiplex, conducting comprehensive risk assessments of contracts and projects as needed, and ensuring transparent communication of all relevant risks to the business.
