Job Description

The Team: The Surgical Ward at the North West Regional Hospital is a 32 bed ward with orthopaedic, general surgery, gynaecology and ENT specialties. The Role: We are seeking applications from motivated Registered Nurses with an interest and or experience in acute care, along with the skills required for surgical and orthopaedic nursing to join our dynamic team. We are looking for compassionate nurses who create and foster an attitude of positivity, who will thrive with our commitment to teamwork and learning culture. Applications from candidates with post graduate qualifications in acute care would be highly regarded. Details of appointment: Fixed term, part time, shift worker position (fully rotational), working up to 64 hours per fortnight, 16 March 2025 until 1 January 2026. *notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant. Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies. Salary: $78,179 to $105,995 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount. Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023. Access to the Grade 4 salary range $99,455- $105,995 is subject to successful application for progression to Grade 4. In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available: Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10 % based on qualification type. Salary Packaging: You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible. Benefits available to eligible candidates: Travel and relocation assistance support available up to $15,000 for eligible appointees from overseas, and up to $10,000 for appointees from interstate. Eligibility: Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse. *Registration/licences that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of these may be checked at any time during employment.
