About the Role Formed in 1882, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPAH) is a major metropolitan tertiary referral hospital and a principal provider of specialist healthcare. It remains one of the nation’s most respected hospitals, with a distinguished history serving the health needs of local, statewide, national and international communities.The Apheresis Unit sits within the Department of Haematology and operates Monday to Friday with a 24hr/day on call service. It provides expert nursing care in all areas of Apheresis including therapeutic and cellular therapies and clinical trials.The Registered Nurse is responsible for the provision of patient centred; evidence informed nursing care that promotes identified health outcomes. The Registered Nurse will assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care in collaboration with individuals and the multidisciplinary healthcare team. Ideal Candidate Current nursing registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA). Apheresis experience with cannulation and CVAD management skills. Demonstrated understanding of evidence informed practice and critical thinking. Excellent communication skills. Ability to work well in a dynamic team. Evidence of participation in own professional development and commitment to maintaining competence and enhancement of skills, and willingness to apply and share professional expertise with colleagues.
