Job Description

St John Industry Medical Services is the department within St John Ambulance WA that specialises in workplace medical needs, particularly for remote or high-risk operations. We have been providing medical services to construction, mining, oil and gas and other industries for more than 17 years. The Opportunity Expression of interest sought from experienced nurses to join our Flying Squad Team providing clinical coverage for planned and unplanned leave, and other roster gaps to the various resource sites across WA as well as Custodial and Corrective roles in the Perth Metro area. Applicants should possess excellent communication skills including verbal and written and able to establish excellent working relationships with all involved parties. The role is unique in that you could be required to assess and provide assistance and monitor detainees in Police custody or support and treat detainees in a youth custody setting or provide First Aid and Emergency Response on a mine site as required and as well as performing Periodic Medicals as determined by the client. The applicant will need to be proactive, possessing a customer orientated approach to service delivery. You will also need to be versatile and able to adapt to different work locations and job requirements. You will receive a monthly retainer with the understanding you will be available if you are called for cover. Should you be called to cover any gaps you will receive the casual rate for the hours worked as well as the retainer. If you don't want the commitment of a set roster this could be the ideal opportunity for you. We are looking for a team to be available to cover short notice vacancies. AHPRA registered RN with no restrictions. 5+ Years' Nursing experience. Current NPC (Issued within last 3 months) or willing to obtain. Provide First Aid Certificate (current or willing to obtain). Current WA Working with Children (WWC). Current CPR certificate. Valid C class Driver's Licence. Ability to pass thorough background and integrity checks. AOD experience and certificate. Willing to attend multiple site inductions to be available for all location - paid hours. ED or Custodial nursing experience highly desirable. Sound reasoning and clinical skills. Advanced Life Support (ALS) Certificate advantageous. Remote / regional / previous mine experience advantageous. Mental Health work experience advantageous.
