Job Description

The Team: Ward K10W Medicine & Respiratory, Royal Hobart Hospital Ward K10W is a dynamic General Medical and Respiratory ward. We specialise in the care of patients experiencing acute and/or chronic respiratory disorders, cystic fibrosis, and general medicine patients including adults experiencing eating disorders. The Role: Contributes to workplace activities and works collaboratively in assisting and supporting the Nurse Unit Manager in achieving the goals of the service by contributing to workplace activities beyond the immediate responsibility of delivering clinical care to clients. This will include the Clinical Coach Portfolio, with active involvement in clinical education; clinical leadership and management; safety and quality; and practice development. Contributes to positive client outcomes by facilitating the competence and confidence of novice clinicians via clinical coaching. You will need: Current knowledge of, and the ability to apply nursing/midwifery principles, procedures, and evidence-based practices in the delivery of patient/client care in a relevant clinical setting and in line with legal requirements, the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA), Registered Nurse or Midwife Standards for Practice and other relevant professional standards. Demonstrated ability to use clinical coaching principles to support professional and clinical development of novice nurses and midwives. Demonstrated ability to provide clinical leadership to support the nursing or midwifery management team, and to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team. Details of appointment: Fixed term, part time, shift worker (fully rotational) position, working 48 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible for a period of approximately twelve (12) months. *notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant. Salary: $99,455 to $105,995 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount. Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023. Access to the Grade 4 salary range $99,455- $105,995 is subject to successful application for progression to Grade 4. In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available: Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type. Salary Packaging: You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible. Eligibility: Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria. Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse. Relevant postgraduate qualifications appropriate to the clinical area. Membership with the relevant professional organisation (e.g.: Australian College of Nursing, Australian College of Midwives, ACORN, ACCCN).
