We provide extensive guidance to ensure a seamless transition into the ESSU, with every shift under the expert supervision of a Clinical Nurse Unit Manager. Our multidisciplinary team extends beyond nursing and medical professionals to include administrative staff, social workers, physiotherapists, pharmacists, occupational therapists, and dedicated ancillary personnel - all working in unison to deliver comprehensive, patient-centred care. Level 6 Emergency Department Our department specialises in trauma, neurosurgical emergencies, neurology patients (including acute stroke), major orthopaedic, cardiology and cardiothoracic cases, and paediatric/adolescent mental health. With over 85,000 presentations annually, our ED is one of the busiest mixed Adult/Paediatric Tertiary Referral Centres in Australia and the only Trauma Referral Centre in NSW outside of Sydney.
