Job Description

Bethel Aged Care (Mill Park) is a fully accredited residential aged care facility in the northern suburbs of Melbourne. The proprietor is a medical doctor and senior managers are Registered Nurses. We provide a generous staffing structure and an excellent work environment. Exciting opportunities are now available for Australian experienced Registered Nurses Grade 1 or 2 for: Part time AM shifts 7am to 3pm. Mon to Thurs available . Part time Night shifts 11pm to 7:15am Tues and Wed to support the Registered Nurse In Charge. During AM shifts, you would be required to administer medications, coordinate the PCAs in that wing, attend to the clinical / care needs of the residents, liaise with families or health professionals, recognise and manage unwell residents, ensure documentation is accurate and done in a timely fashion. You will receive hands-on mentoring over time and there may be opportunities for you to step up into the RN in charge role depending on your accumulated experience, performance and available shifts. During Night shifts, you would be required to assist the RN in charge in documentation, meeting the care and clinical needs of the residents, support the PCAs, attend to emergencies and unwell residents. You will need to be willing to attend to ADLs and toileting needs of residents with PCAs where required. Attributes : We seek candidates who have the desire to provide care for our residents as though they were your own loved ones. You should possess good communication skills to liaise with health professionals, residents, visitors, and other staff. You would need to demonstrate knowledge in the accreditation standards, infection control, SIRS, medication management, and manual handling. You would lead by example, possess excellent time management qualities, and the ability to recognise and manage deteriorating residents. Further education opportunities exist for those who demonstrate potential and desire to excel in a variety of areas. Ability to speak Italian is an advantage. Requirements : Must possess a valid NDIS worker screen (or apply for one upon successful appointment). Computer literacy is essential as all documentation and medication management is electronic based. Will be required to maintain First Aid Level 2 / CPR qualifications ongoing.
