Multiple Permanent Full Time or Part Time positions available 1 x Fixed Term Part Time position – 64 hours per fortnight (January 2025 to December 2025 – parental leave backfill) We have opportunities for experienced Registered Nurses to join our highly regarded District Nursing team. The District Nurse is an independent practitioner who assists clients to remain in their home during periods of illness or disability, by providing skilled nursing care, education and re-ablement to them and their families to maintain their independence. This position requires excellent assessment and problem-solving skills for the ongoing care of consumers in their home. The role requires a nurse who has the ability to prioritise patient care, escalate patient care and be flexible to meet the demands of a changing day to day business. The successful applicants will be required to have sound clinical and communication skills and have the opportunity to progress to Level 2 upon fulfillment of training and on-call requirements. District Nursing is provided to the Baw Baw Shire 7 days per week. These roles will require the right nurse to be able to work on a rotating, flexible roster, which will also include working morning and afternoon shifts. We have permanent hours available up to 176 per fortnight, split as needed. We also have a fixed term contract from early January 2025 to July 2025 up to 48 hours per fortnight available and another from January 2025 to December 2025 up to 64 hours per fortnight available. Both of these fixed term roles are backfill for parental leave. Please identify in your application which position(s) you are interested in. Further information is contained in the Position Description . Requirements Mandatory Registered Nurse with current Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency registration. Current Driver Licence. Well-developed time management, communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to cover all shifts and work on call. Minimum 3 years’ experience post registration in an acute setting. Post Graduate qualifications relevant to District Nursing. Key Selection Criteria: Well-developed skills and knowledge in wound management. Well-developed skills in the management and care of CVADs. Relevant clinical assessment skills and knowledge. Communicates effectively with individuals, team members and key stakeholders. Participates as a team member. Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment. Participates in clinical education in line with roles and responsibilities of Clinical Nurse. Demonstrated ability to work in a challenging and changing environment. Demonstrates ability to work to deadlines and time frames. Provide direct patient care and advice where appropriate. Sound computer skills. Ability to work all shifts. Ability to work independently with minimal direction. IMPORTANT: Some roles in the healthcare sector are required to be vaccinated annually for Influenza (unless a valid exemption applies). Evidence of vaccination (or exemption) will be required to be provided prior to commencement.
