The town’s healthcare needs are served by the Balranald Multi-Purpose Service (MPS), part of the Far West Local Health District (FWLHD). Key Features of Balranald MPS: 24/7 Emergency Care : Provides round-the-clock emergency services crucial for the remote community. General Medical Services : Includes outpatient consultations, treatments, and inpatient care for various health conditions. Aged Care : Integrated aged care services offer long-term residential care and support for elderly residents. Community Health Programs : Focus on preventive health, chronic disease management, maternal and child health, and mental health services. Visiting Specialists : Regular visits from specialists in fields like cardiology, pediatrics, and women’s health. Telehealth Services : Enables remote consultations with specialists and follow-up care, minimizing the need for travel. Cultural Competence : Emphasis on providing culturally sensitive care, particularly for Indigenous populations.
