Townsville Hospital and Health Service , is the public healthcare provider for the government areas of Townsville, Burdekin, Charters Towers, Flinders, Richmond, Hinchinbrook and Palm Island. We operate 21 facilities from primary care in regional locations to highly specialised care at the main hospital. Parklands Residential Aged Care Facility is a Queensland Health managed aged care service within the Townsville Hospital and Health Service and is in Townsville at the Kirwan campus. The facility provides care for 70 residents with 30 places for dementia care and 40 places for older persons who require care due to fragility and complex care needs. Pro rata remuneration package based on full-time equivalent value of up to $121,464 p.a. Salary range:$41.73 - $53.53 p.h. (+ applicable allowances/benefits) (Nurse Grade 5). 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading and 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation. Plus Salary Sacrificing options and flexible working arrangements may be available. About the role Parklands provides a multidisciplinary approach to care delivery with a focus on resident's rights and choices. Residents (as able), relatives, carers and other health professionals are involved in the individual care planning process and encouraged to play an active role in the decision-making process. With the introduction of the aged care nursing ratios, all nursing staff will work together to provide resident focused quality nursing care that meets the aged care quality standards and will assist in the provision of leisure and recreational activities and interactions. The Registered Nurse (RN) utilises clinical skills and knowledge whilst working in partnership with other members of the nursing team and students to provide resident focused care and assisting in the achievement of service goals. The RN will be committed to relevant and continued professional education, actively be involved with the development of others and be involved in the unit portfolios. The RN provides care in accordance with the Practice Standards as identified by the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Board. Role requirements Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent is a mandatory qualification for this position. Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and possession of a current practising certificate.
