Registered Nurse (Triage) - Work from home Registered Nurse (Triage) - Work from home Australian Capital Territory Canberra About the role. We are working hard to create an inclusive workplace and develop Indigenous careers. The Opportunity Our Nurse Triage team takes calls from virtually all over Australia. The team will triage symptoms and provide recommendations helping callers make informed healthcare decisions. Nurse Triage provides general health information and, if appropriate, referral to local service providers. This is a safe and accessible service operating 24/7, 365 days a year. Roles are offered between 18.75 to 37.5 hours per week. You must be available to work in shifts mainly during evenings/nights and weekends. Applications will be considered for a fixed-term contract until 31st October 2022. Our phone-based work from home Nurse Triage role includes: Helping callers through challenging situations using our clinical triage system Ensuring clinical governance and care outcomes are met; using our technology and systems to complement strong clinical assessment skills which arrive at a suitable disposition for each caller. Virtual induction training over one week, along with ongoing support and assistance. About You You are a Registered Nurse Division 1 with: 1 year recent experience (full-time equivalent nursing experience in a clinical role with direct patient care in the last 5 years). Experience in the following areas will be an advantage but not essential: Emergency, Acute Medical/Surgical, Critical Care, High Dependency Unit (HDU), General Medical/Surgical, or Paediatrics in Australia. With clear communication skills and the ability to use your critical thinking on the spot, you are self-driven and passionate about improving the lives of the Australian public. Key requirements for this role include: Current AHPRA registration with no limitations Superior nursing assessment skills Intermediate IT skills; comfortable navigating software, and multitasking including typing and talking at the same time.
