Registrar - General Medicine Advanced Trainee (532742) Australia, Tas About the Tasmanian State Service The Tasmanian State Service (TSS) is the largest employer in Tasmania, with over 28,000 employees providing services to the Tasmanian community at all levels. Position Overview We are seeking applicants who are passionate about pursuing General and Acute Care Medicine Advanced Training for 2025 at the Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH), the largest hospital in Tasmania with approximately 500 beds. RHH is the state-wide referral centre for numerous tertiary services and is an accredited Level 3 teaching hospital. The Advanced Training program at RHH includes exposure to Core General Medicine and related rotations, with major medical sub-specialties. Trainees will have access to subspecialties that meet all core training requirements, including 12 months of core training in General Medicine and 12 months of core subspecialty terms. Duties The Advanced Trainee is responsible for the day-to-day management of private and public inpatients and outpatients within the Hospital, providing after-hours emergency cover and participating in outpatient clinics. Minimum Requirements General registration with the Medical Board of Australia. Current Tasmanian Working with Children Registration (where applicable). Highly Desirable Completion of the RACP Basic Physician Training Program. Classification Medical Practitioner Level 5-11 (Registrar/Senior Registrar) Award Medical Practitioners (Tasmanian State Service) Award Period of Employment Fixed term, full time day work, 76 hours per fortnight (+ 10 hours protected training time), commencing as soon as possible for up to 4 years.
