Job Description

The National Offshore Petroleum Safety and Environmental Management Authority (NOPSEMA) is Australia's independent expert regulator for health and safety, structural integrity, well integrity and environmental management for all offshore energy operations and greenhouse gas storage activities in Commonwealth waters, and in coastal waters where regulatory powers and functions have been conferred. NOPSEMA also administers the functions of the Offshore Infrastructure Regulator (OIR), for the offshore renewables industry. This includes the regulation of work health and safety, infrastructure integrity, and environmental management for offshore renewable energy infrastructure activities. We are seeking a Regulatory Specialist (Psychosocial Health and Safety) to join our Perth Office to support the Authority's core regulatory processes, and to work across NOPSEMA to develop capacity and capability in the regulation of psychosocial health and safety. Role: Reporting to the Deputy Chief Executive Officer - Strategic Regulation and Improvement, this role will be responsible for supporting inspections of offshore operations and NOPSEMA's investigations of accidents, incidents, complaints and in particular, psychosocial health and safety incidents. The Regulatory Specialist (Psychosocial Health and Safety) will also assist in the assessment of safety cases and associated documents in relation to psychosocial health and safety. The key duties of the position include: Key Responsibilities: As a highly, self-motivated Regulatory Specialist with extensive experience and knowledge of developing and maintaining robust internal and external procedures, guidelines and standards relating to the regulation and management of psychosocial health and safety risk, you will support NOPSEMA employees to build the Agency's capability and capacity in relation to psychosocial health and safety. You will represent NOPSEMA and engage with industry and other stakeholders on psychosocial health and safety matters and undertake regulatory enforcement action in accordance with NOPSEMA processes. The successful applicant will develop, maintain and adhere to NOPSEMA core regulatory processes, particularly regulatory compliance, reporting and analysis and industry and stakeholder relationship management. We would like to hear from you if: You are an accomplished Regulatory Specialist with extensive experience in psychosocial health and safety management within high-risk environments and possess the ability to translate theory into practice within operational environments. You have a reputation as a trusted Regulatory Specialist who can identify, analyse and diagnose problems in a logical manner and maintain relationships between key stakeholders and facilitate effective communication channels to promote regulatory compliance in relation to psychosocial health and safety. You leverage your expertise to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to effectively influence, negotiate and represent NOPSEMA on psychosocial health and safety matters and drive achievement of agency goals and objectives. #J-18808-Ljbffr
