About the role We are seeking a highly engaged Regulatory Specialist to join our dynamic and collaborative team. In this critical role, you’ll provide specialist advice and analysis to navigate regulatory challenges and support our growth objectives. Partnering with our east coast Merchant Energy business units, you’ll play a pivotal part in shaping Alinta Energy’s strategies for electricity and gas wholesale markets. What you’ll do Establish and implement strategies for wholesale market regulatory issues on the east coast Analyse regulatory developments and prepare compelling submissions to influence market rule changes Represent Alinta Energy in discussions with industry working groups and external stakeholders Advise the business to maximise commercial opportunities within regulatory frameworks Present verbal and written updates on regulatory changes to internal stakeholders Collaborate with the compliance team to deliver ad-hoc advice and training on key compliance issues and support the implementation of regulatory changes Your experience A degree in Economics, Commerce, Business, Law, or a related discipline Experience in energy markets or a similar regulated industry Strategic thinking and independent judgment Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with stakeholders as well as exceptional written and verbal communication skills Analytical mindset and ability to work under tight deadlines This role is best suited to an individual who is a strategic thinker with a knack for interpreting complex regulations.
