Rehabilitation Case Manager (APS5) (APS6) Our Federal Government client is looking for Rehabilitation Case Managers to coordinate valuable support programs to ill and injured employees across the agency. x2 APS5 and APS6 (Senior level) roles Opportunity: Non-ongoing Opportunity Location: Canberra Based Eligibility: Must be an Australian Citizen and obtain Baseline Security Clearance Key position responsibilities (APS5): Provide assistance to individual ill or injured employees through a tailored and planned case management approach and utilising the expertise of rehabilitation providers where needed to achieve optimal recovery and early return to work. Monitor and provide reporting on injury management issues, including Comcare premium and injury trend, and propose solutions to mitigate any key risks (e.g. early intervention strategies). Conduct research and analysis to provide conclusions on issues and assist in the management, preparation and coordination of policy or procedure formulation and/or project management. Develop and maintain key internal and external relationships, including liaising with stakeholders on policy, project or operational issues and responding to stakeholder needs and expectations. Also represent the agency at meetings, conferences and seminars. Provide accurate advice, guidance and reporting on team functional responsibilities. Communicate and make decisions exercising sound judgment, expertise and knowledge, governed by legislation, regulations, best practice principles or relevant operating instructions and procedures. Contribute to doctrine, election preparation and delivery activities in accordance with the election readiness framework, according to individual accountabilities and responsibilities. Perform additional duties or assume responsibility of functions as directed by Management from time to time. Qualifications, Skills and Experience Mandatory: Sound knowledge and understanding of Comcare’s workers’ compensation scheme and related legislation. In depth knowledge and application of rehabilitation management frameworks, systems and processes, including early intervention and evidence-based approaches. Knowledge and experience in successful setting priorities and delivering quality results within set times. Proven ability to communicate effectively whilst anticipating stakeholder needs and expectations across a geographically dispersed network. Proven analytical abilities with the ability to propose and facilitate change and contribute to business improvement strategies. Demonstrated personal integrity whilst achieving results within legislative and policy parameters. Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, including Certificate IV in Injury Management, or equivalent work experience. Key position responsibilities (APS6): Provide high quality case management support for the more complex cases, including assistance to ill or injured employees through a tailored and planned case management approach and utilising the expertise of rehabilitation providers where needed to achieve optimal recovery and early return to work. Lead the analysis reporting on injury management issues, including Comcare premium and injury trend, and propose solutions to mitigate any key risks (e.g. early intervention strategies). Conduct research and analysis to provide conclusions on issues and assist in the management, preparation and coordination of policy or procedure formulation and/or project management. Supervise a service-oriented team to deliver high quality, timely and client focused outputs, including the development of team members at lower classifications, building team capacity and encouraging career development. Develop and maintain key internal and external relationships, including liaising with stakeholders on policy, project or operational issues and responding to stakeholder needs and expectations. Also represent the agency at meetings, conferences and seminars. Provide accurate advice, guidance and reporting on team functional responsibilities. Communicate and make decisions exercising sound judgment, expertise and knowledge, governed by legislation, regulations, best practice principles or relevant operating instructions and procedures.
