The hospital encompasses 185 beds, 6 operating theatres, 10 bed ICU, rehabilitation, medical, surgical, and mental health services. Our facility includes two major medical centres, Maitland Cancer Centre, ICON Radiation Oncology, radiology, pharmacy, and pathology laboratory. Your new role as Rehab Ward Nurse Unit Manager: Maitland Private Hospital’s 48 bed rehabilitation unit is combined with comprehensive facilities including hydrotherapy pool, gymnasium, and an extensive allied health team. Reporting to the Director of Clinical Services, this vital role leads a multidisciplinary team of medical, nursing, and allied health staff in the provision of inpatient rehabilitation services. We are seeking a highly skilled, motivated, and innovative registered nurse to join the hospital’s clinical leadership team as the Nurse Unit Manager of our Rehab Unit on a permanent full-time basis. About you (essential criteria): Current Working with Children Check and Police Check. Current unrestricted AHPRA Registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1), General Minimum 5 years post grad experience with comprehensive clinical knowledge and skills. Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development Sound understanding of clinical governance as relevant to rehabilitation services and hospital management with demonstrated experience in implementing quality improvement initiatives, clinical policies and accreditation programs relating to ACHS clinical standards. Strong leadership and mentoring skills with a track record in effectively managing and developing staff and building respect and morale among staff at all levels. Comprehensive knowledge of hospital administrative procedures such as managing rosters, workforce planning and resource modelling for a busy unit. Strong collaborative interpersonal skills with well-developed verbal and written communication skills Demonstrated computer skills in relevant hospital management programs as well as MS Office Suite Solid understanding of AROC and FIM collection requirements. Immunisation evidence and serology report in accordance with NSW Health. Post graduate qualifications in relevant specialty and management Previous experience within the private hospital sector &/or experience in a similar role Familiarity with health funds, Medicare, DVA, WorkCover and third-party requirements FIM credentialed.
