Contract to 6-month contract, plus possible extension | Brisbane & Work from Home Join a large Mining firm as a Release Train Engineer Coach leadership on Agile practices, track portfolio objectives, and align project outcomes. SAFe certification and Agile expertise essential. About the role: Coordinate and coach Agile teams within the Agile Release Train (ART) framework to deliver business value. Facilitate program execution, foster collaboration, manage risks, and drive continuous improvement with strong coaching and mentoring skills. Key responsibilities include: Facilitate Agile Release Train (ART) events, processes, and ensure successful value delivery Plan, coordinate and execute product releases while aligning with the vision and roadmap Prepare the ART for Program Increment (PI) planning ensuring alignment, readiness, and logistics Establish and communicate the annual calendars for Iterations and PIs and facilitate all ART recurring events Maintain alignment and flow of delivery across the Release Train by communicating with stakeholders, escalating issues, managing risks, and driving continuous improvement Promote built-in quality practices Collaborate with ART roles (Domain Owner, Product Line Owner, Solution Architect) to lead the train Ensure work is captured in appropriate tooling, leverage metrics and dashboards to make better decisions and drive delivery insights Act as a supportive leader, coaching ART roles e.g. Portfolio/Domain Owners, System Architects, Product Owners in Lean-Agile practice and mindsets Drive relentless innovation and continuous improvement via Inspect and Adapt workshops Support teams in problem identification, decision making, and problem-solving Collaborate with other RTEs (Release Train Engineers) and Transformation coaches to improve Agile Ways of Working within Rio Tinto Understand and operate within budgets and ensure adherence to Guardrails Improve the value flow, focusing on DevOps and Continuous Delivery practices Facilitate value stream mapping, identifying bottlenecks and areas for improvement Assist in managing risks, dependencies, and tracking the execution of features and capabilities Coordinate impediment removal, problem escalation, and work to reduce or eliminate cross-team dependencies About you: Highly Desirable: Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Business or another related field will be highly regarded Experience: Mandatory: Have Agile delivery and coaching experience, preferably working as an RTE or senior Scrum Master (+5 years) Theoretical and practical experience utilising various Agile Methodologies including SAFe, Scrum and Kanban Working in IT for a global / multi-national, diversified corporation Organisational Transformation and SAFe implementation experience Experience participating in office safety programmes; and instilling a safety culture in the workplace and with vendors through influence and behaviour Queensland based candidates only.
