The Melbourne School of Population and Global Health is seeking a health economist to join the Economics of Global Health and Infectious Diseases Unit and contribute to a multi-species malaria dynamic transmission model. Funded by an NHMRC Ideas grant, this role involves collaborating with an infectious disease modeller to evaluate intervention impacts on malaria transmission, costs, and health outcomes. The ideal candidate will have a background in health economics or a related quantitative discipline, with experience in economic evaluations, decision analytic modelling, and working in multidisciplinary research teams. Your responsibilities will include: Support research activities consistent with the needs of the group and the agreed research program. Develop and analyse results from a dynamic transmission economic evaluation model for malaria. Collaboration within a cross-institutional multi-disciplinary research team and with researchers. Who We Are Looking For The successful candidate will be a strong analytical thinker with excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex economic methods and research findings to diverse audiences. They will demonstrate the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team, managing research projects effectively while meeting deadlines in a dynamic environment. You will also have: Possessing an Honours or Masters level qualification in a relevant discipline (Health Economics, Health Services Research, Economics, Econometrics/Statistics). Experience in analysing decision analytic models in R, Python, TreeAge, Excel or other relevant software. Highly developed ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to a range of audiences including a multidisciplinary team, interpersonal skills and clear communicator of economic methods and results. #J-18808-Ljbffr
