Research and Development - Laboratory Technician Location: Toowoomba & Darling Downs, QLD Job Code: 1997 In this Research and Development – Laboratory Technician position, no two days will be the same. You’ll be brainstorming groundbreaking solutions, and next, you’ll be testing and refining them in real-world applications. Main Responsibilities: Concept development and investigation of prototypes, products and manufacturing processes. Develop suitable test methods for various prototypes and materials. Undertake small-scale and full-scale tests (indoor and outdoor) on materials and products including sample preparations, test setup, perform tests and samples disposal. Document and preliminary analysis of the obtained results. Conduct procedures safely and ensure all equipment is kept in good condition for testing. Handling and working with chemicals in line with the company procedures and relevant standards. Assisting with preparation, review and update of Standard Operation Procedures for testing. General laboratory housekeeping. About You: To be successful in this role you need: Ability to read and interpret test standards and methodologies. Hands-on experience when it comes to modifying and fabricating simple test fixtures. High attention to detail with a practical mindset. Friendly and positive attitude and ability to work as part of a team. Experience using a variety of software packages, including laboratory test software. Commitment to safe work practices. Understanding of polymers and FRP products (preferable). Must have a C Class Drivers Licence. Forklift licence – or willing/capable to obtain. Why Wagners?
