Then South Metropolitan Health Service is the perfect place to start!This is a recruitment pool for Permanent Full Time / Part Time, Fixed Term Full Time / Part Time and Casual appointments with the possibility of extensions and/or permanency.Job Description Respiratory Scientists provide a quality and timely diagnostic service in pulmonary physiology for inpatients and outpatients that is up to date and responsive to the needs of the patients and their physicians. This includes performing specialised tests, maintaining equipment and consumable supplies, analysing results and practicing quality assurance. Participation in ongoing educational and research activities is an integral part of the role.Respiratory Sleep Scientists conduct and analyse polysomnographic investigations for sleep disorders; contribute to administering the sleep disorders service; support the management of patients on therapy; participate in research.Both positions have excellent Education, Training and Competency Programs to assist with gaining the required skills to perform competently in the roles.Whilst Respiratory and Respiratory Sleep Scientists are two different positions operating in different laboratories, both positions fall under the same Chief Respiratory and Sleep Scientist who oversees both functional areas. This creates possibilities for future movement between these two positions should the vacancies be available, offering greater professional development growth opportunities.Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments may be made when similar vacancies occur. Appointments may be made from this pool until 31/05/2026.
