About the Opportunity Lead, coach and develop high performing teams to deliver market share growth through relentless execution of the IGA channel standards and Metcash strategic priorities. This role has a strong focus on setting & delivering sales targets by developing robust MSO and customer plans for Fresh, growing customer engagement by being a trusted business advisor, and building the Fresh Specialists capability to identify and execute sales opportunities that will drive sustainable growth for Metcash and our Customers. Positively shaping our sales operations environment to build engagement and improve ways of working is critical to this role. In this Role Collaborate closely with Merchandise to develop and implement the state fresh strategy integrating store/shopper data and network opportunities. Set and monitor Fresh Specialist (FS) performance against sales, profit, and network targets while optimizing FS journey planning and call cycles. Drive compliance to food safety, fresh promotional execution, and outlet excellence, ensuring alignment with operational standards and fresh retail excellence. Enhance customer engagement by building trust and advising retailers on fresh industry benchmarks, trends and best practice. Identify process improvements, represent retailer interests to leadership, and manage fresh budgets to maximize ROI. Advise on minimum fresh ranging, Fresh new lines, and warehouse/charge thru sales opportunities, collaborating with the Merchandise Fresh team to optimise and drive sales. Build and lead high-performing, growth-driven teams through coaching, capability programs, and fostering a safe, accountable, and empowering work environment. You’re Likely a Match If you have Multi-site grocery retail management knowledge and sales experience. Building customer relationships, influential partnerships and networks. Strong track record of people leadership – constructive leadership styles, coaching, developing & motivating teams. In-depth technical sales knowledge to support retailers to be the best store in their town - customer contact model, structured sales & execution methodology, internal & external compliance requirements. In-depth Fresh grocery market knowledge and understanding of the retail supermarket sector. Experience in buying within a Fresh category and knowledge of growing and supply trends within the industry. Strong understanding of Fresh food compliance and legislative requirements e.g. HACCP, Food Safety, Cold Chain and WHS Legislation. Demonstrates strategic thinking and can translate into an execution plan, with a strong track record of closing successful deals and delivering sales targets.
