Job Description

This Retail Market has a diverse customer base and is well established in the community and offers a variety of stalls across food, fashion, homewares, craft, fresh produce, electrical goods and many more speciality stores. They have an opportunity for an experienced Casual Retail Leasing Executive to join their team. Reporting to the Retail Leasing & Growth Manager, this role will assist the Property and Leasing function, focusing on developing and implementing the Market’s Pop-up Leasing Plan and Alternative Income Strategies. This role collaborates closely with the Retail Leasing & Growth Manager, other members of the Leasing Team, and both existing and prospective traders to drive growth, activate market spaces and ensure smooth operations across the business including renewals, new leases and tenants and strategically managing these relationships with a view to achieving a ‘win win’ for both parties. Your ability to balance commercial outcomes with true business partnerships with tenants is a critical component of this role. Key Responsibilities New Business: Oversee the implementation of the Pop-Up Leasing Plan, including negotiating and preparing license offers for new and existing traders. Source and organise licenses for external and pop-up traders. Generate casual leasing leads and recruit new traders aligned with the Market's retail mix, incubation, and events strategies. Develop and execute strategies to activate vacant spaces and explore alternative income sources. Drive initiatives to increase revenue from new traders. Build partnerships and new business channels for sponsorship. Report on sales strategies and results. Existing Tenants: Negotiate and organise new licences and licence renewals for existing tenants in consultation with the Retail Leasing & Growth Manager. Evaluate and enhance trader presentation standards. Maintain relationships with existing traders. Leverage referrals from the existing client network. Coordination and Communication: Coordinate with the Finance team to ensure accurate and timely invoicing for traders. Collaborate with the Operations team to organise floor plans and co-ordinate event bump-ins. Communicate with the Marketing team to develop and deliver marketing materials for traders and events. Liaise with external stakeholders, i.e. local Council regarding all legislative and permitting requirements. Assist the Retail Leasing & Growth Manager with current and ongoing projects and opportunities for improvement. You will be a self-starter, will have formal tertiary qualifications in Business, Property, or a related field and/or property-related qualifications. You will also need hold a Sub-Agent’s Licence or a preparedness to obtain. You will have excellent administration and time management skills, combined with outstanding written and verbal communication skills. You are adept at building positive relationships with key internal and stakeholders. High energy, enthusiasm, resourcefulness and an individual that really wants to shine is what we are looking for.
