Retirement Living Specialist – Full-Time Permanent role. Based at Uniting's Mayflower village at Westmead with travel across metro sites Join Uniting and play a key role in shaping the future of our housing communities, ensuring safe, affordable, and secure living for our residents. About the Role As the Retirement Living Specialist, you will collaborate closely with Uniting’s Housing Managers to support the growth and future of our housing portfolio. You’ll be responsible for 8 registered villages, overseeing approximately 100 Retirement Village contract holders, ensuring they experience no change to services or amenities. A key part of the role will involve maintaining resident satisfaction and ensuring legislative compliance. Your responsibilities include providing high-quality, holistic customer service, conducting monthly compliance activities, coordinating maintenance and refurbishments, and facilitating resident activities. You will work closely with the Housing Manager across all sites to ensure smooth operations. Key Responsibilities: Support the transition of Retirement Village residents into Residential Tenancy Agreements (RTA), leveraging your knowledge of the Retirement Villages Act and Residential Tenancies Act (RTA experience is highly desirable). Conduct unit inspections, prepare budgets, and ensure all villages are well-maintained to high living standards by coordinating with the Asset and Minor Works Teams. Participate in monthly compliance activities to ensure regulatory requirements are met, including fire safety audits, evacuation plans, and emergency procedures. Maintain high occupancy levels by engaging in face-to-face vacancy management and tenanting activities. Coordinate and oversee maintenance, grounds keeping, and other essential services to ensure the villages are running smoothly and to the satisfaction of residents. Key Objectives: Enhance the health, happiness, and wellbeing of Retirement Village contract residents. Ensure ongoing compliance and regulatory reporting are maintained across all registered villages. Conduct budget preparation, including negotiating with resident committees, and monitor Capital Works Fund balances. Achieve financial targets and maintain optimum occupancy levels (95-100%). Skills and Experience: Relevant tertiary qualification in an appropriate discipline (desirable). Strong communication and customer service skills with the ability to build strong relationships and meet customer satisfaction levels. Experience working in aged care or housing, with knowledge of the Retirement Villages Act and Residential Tenancies Act (RTA). Strong IT skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CRM, SharePoint). NSW driver’s license and access to a vehicle (required). Proven ability in budget preparation and experience managing financial operations of residential properties. Ability to conduct inspections and ensure all compliance and regulatory measures are adhered to. Why Uniting?
