About the role RACQ is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Risk and Governance Advisor to join our Corporate Services division. This is a newly created, hands-on role where you will play a key part in providing high-quality risk, compliance, and governance support across the organisation. Reporting to both the Corporate Services division and the Group Risk and Compliance function, you will work closely with other risk advisors across the Group, ensuring robust risk management frameworks and governance processes. Key Responsibilities: Provide expert advice and support on risk, compliance, and governance matters to ensure the organisation meets regulatory requirements and operates efficiently. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, building strong relationships to influence decisions and actions effectively. Draft risk and governance documentation, ensuring clear, concise, and well-reasoned arguments. Apply critical thinking to identify hidden insights, proactively addressing emerging risks and issues. Adapt strategies in response to changing internal and external factors to meet business objectives. Work independently, managing tasks with minimal supervision, while maintaining a strong focus on achieving goals. To succeed in this role, you will need: A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in risk, compliance, audit, or governance roles, ideally within the Financial Services sector. A university degree in Business, Commerce, Risk Management, Governance, or a related field. CA or CPA highly regarded. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with all levels of the organisation. Strong analytical skills and an inquisitive mindset, with the ability to uncover insights and solve complex problems. Demonstrated ability to draft clear, detailed documentation and manage risk governance frameworks. A strong understanding of regulatory environments and corporate operational functions. An empathetic approach to reasoning with a commitment to speaking up when things are wrong. Ability to meet deadlines, prioritise under pressure, and adapt to changing circumstances. Why join RACQ?
