Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced and proactive Risk and Insurance Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing the risk management and assurance processes within our organization. Your efforts will ensure that our operations are compliant with regulations, minimize risks, and uphold the highest standards of quality and safety. Responsibilities: Develop and implement comprehensive risk management strategies and frameworks, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and regulatory standards. Identify, assess, and prioritise organisational risks, including operational, financial, environmental, and strategic risks. Conduct risk assessments and identify potential risks to the organization. Monitor and report on risk exposures and mitigation actions. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and internal policies. Oversee the development and maintenance of assurance processes, including audits and reviews. Collaborate with various departments to develop and implement risk mitigation plans. Provide training and support to employees on risk management practices. Prepare and present reports on risk management and assurance activities to senior management. Continuously improve risk management and assurance processes to enhance organizational resilience. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field. Minimum 5 years of experience in risk management, insurance-related position, or a similar role. Strong knowledge of risk management principles, methodologies, and frameworks. High level knowledge of Australian insurance laws, regulations and risk management practices. Demonstrated experience in developing & implementing risk management frameworks and managing complex insurance claims. Understanding of compliance requirements, such as AASB 17 & AS/NZS ISO 31000. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. Preferred Skills: Familiarity with the waste management industry and its regulations. Professional certifications in risk management (e.g., RMIA membership; ANZIF, CIP).
