About the role: System Performance is responsible for providing data analytics and business intelligence services to the Department for Education and leads data governance. The Assessments and Collections directorate, within the System Performance division is responsible for the efficient management, coordination and delivery of enterprise education assessments and associated data collection functions. This includes leading NAPLAN testing and marking for South Australia and liaising with the Australian government and other jurisdictions and education sectors as the lead for the South Australian NAPLAN Test Administration Authority, coordinating the Department’s participation in international assessments and national assessments such as PISA and the Australian Early Development Census, and managing other enterprise-wide education assessments and collections including the collection of A-E grades and parent engagement survey. The Director, Assessments and Collections leads a team of technical, advisory, analytical and service staff to provide high quality, timely services in relation to Departmental, state, national, and international education assessments and collections. Essential qualifications and competencies: An appropriate tertiary qualification including post-graduate qualifications in an appropriate discipline or relevant practical experience. Significant experience leading service delivery in a high pressure, complex context with multiple stakeholders and tight timeframes. Experience leading in a large and complex organisation at an executive level, leading a team with a diverse range of skills and functions. Special Conditions: The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry. The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN–EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years.
