The Role The SAP Technical Lead is responsible for providing technical leadership to the SAP Development, Integration & Reporting team, ensuring the efficient and effective performance of SAP applications. This role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, including overseeing SAP performance, system integration, security compliance, system upgrades, team leadership, and continuous improvement. The SAP Technical Lead will also act as the key contact for penetration testing, driving technical excellence, operational efficiency, and optimization across all SAP applications. The Responsibilities: Provide SAP technical leadership to the SAP application development, integration, and reporting team. Serve as a key subject matter expert, guiding the team on best practices, technical solutions, and troubleshooting complex issues. Lead efforts to optimize SAP application performance and ensure seamless integration between other SAP modules, third-party systems, legacy applications, and cloud solutions. Lead and oversee the integration components and methodology of SAP systems with third-party applications, legacy systems, and cloud-based solutions. Accountable for the Technical Integration (ABAP/PI/Integration Suite/BW) Operational run of the SAP footprint in Medibank (FS-PM, FS-CD, CRM, APIs: SOAP, REST, OData, ABAP). Oversee the resolution of complex technical issues within SAP environments, ensuring quick resolution of critical incidents to minimize system downtime. Manage a team who will deliver as per Medibank’s prioritised plan, including enhancements, problems and large programs of work. Lead initiatives to address security vulnerabilities and mitigate risks in SAP systems. Actively contribute to initiatives designed to optimize SAP application performance and reduce downtime. Develop and deliver training to other team members, business users, and other stakeholders on SAP operational best practices. About You Outstanding communication and influencing skills. Previous experience providing application focused support. Deep SAP Domain experience 10-15 years. Proven experience working as an ABAP/Integration solution consultant. Proven proficiency in ABAP programming and development. Experience leading technical teams. Expertise in performance tuning, load testing, and system optimization. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Leading & implementing structured problem-solving methodologies and approaches. Demonstrated understanding and implementation of ITIL processes.
