Job Description

Our client is a leader in general insurance broking, risk mitigation, and offers claims services to a wide range of businesses across a multitude of industries. They are a very well-established business, with the founder of the business working within the insurance industry for almost two decades. As an SME Insurance Broker, you will be responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of SME clients, identifying their insurance needs, and offering expert advice on the most suitable products. You will work closely with insurers, clients, and internal teams to provide high-quality service, build long-lasting relationships, and ensure that businesses are adequately protected from risks. Key Responsibilities: Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with SME clients, understanding their unique insurance needs and offering personalised solutions. Risk Assessment & Advice: Conduct thorough risk assessments for SME clients and advise on appropriate coverage, including property, liability, workers' compensation, and professional indemnity insurance. Policy Recommendations & Sales: Recommend suitable insurance products based on individual business requirements, assisting clients in selecting the right policies. Market Analysis & Negotiation: Analyze market trends, review product offerings, and negotiate with insurers to secure the best terms and pricing for clients. Claims Support: Assist clients with the claims process, offering support and guidance to ensure claims are handled efficiently and fairly. Account Management: Regularly review client portfolios, ensuring coverage remains relevant and providing ongoing advice for policy renewals or adjustments. Compliance & Documentation: Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and maintain accurate records of client interactions, policies, and renewals. Business Development: Actively seek opportunities for new business by networking, prospecting, and identifying new potential SME clients. Skills & Qualifications: Experience: 2-5 years of experience as an insurance broker, preferably with a focus on SMEs. Knowledge: Strong understanding of insurance products and services relevant to small and medium-sized businesses (e.g., liability, property, business interruption). Customer Focused: Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills with a client-first mindset. Sales Skills: Proven track record of sales and business development, with the ability to identify and convert leads into long-term clients. Problem-Solving: Strong ability to assess client needs, analyze risks, and provide tailored solutions. Organisational Skills: Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple client accounts and deadlines simultaneously. Certifications: Insurance qualifications (e.g., Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) certification) preferred but not required.
