Where you'll be working Goulburn Base Hospital is in Southern NSW LHD, approximately 2 hours from Sydney (195 kms) and 1 hour from Canberra (90 kms). The hospital is located in a new Clinical Services Building and has approximately 100 beds. The ED has a Level 4 role delineation and has 2 resuscitation beds, 6 acute beds (including 2 isolation rooms), and a fast-track area. The department is led by FACEMs, FACRRMs and GP VMOs with expertise in Emergency Medicine. What You'll Be Doing The role of a Specialist in Emergency Medicine is to provide high quality, specialised and safe clinical care to patients in the Emergency Department within the hospital setting. The Specialist also provides training to and supervision of clinicians in the multidisciplinary setting to achieve quality education outcomes and safe clinical practice. Selection Criteria Evidence of registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Specialist, Emergency Medicine or Specialist, General Practice (FRACGP or FACRRM) with additional advanced qualifications in Emergency Medicine. Demonstrated recency of practice and knowledge, experience, skills and high standards of clinical practice in Emergency Medicine appropriate to the requirements of the position. Demonstrated skills and attitudes appropriate for a Senior Medical Practitioner, including modelling a high standard of professional behaviours to the multidisciplinary team. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, build collaborative partnerships and provide leadership of a team. Demonstrated experience, understanding and commitment to patient safety and other aspects of clinical governance. Demonstrated commitment to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching of medical, nursing and allied health professionals and to continuing self-education, research and quality improvement. Demonstrated commitment to behaviours which align to the NSW Health CORE values and SNSWLHD Values, goals and strategies. Commitment to participate in an equitable medical roster, including evenings, weekend shifts and the on-call roster, and ability to respond on site within a reasonable time frame.
