Position DescriptionThis position will serve as a Supervisory Quality Assurance Specialist (Aircraft) in the Industrial Quality Department of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST. The selectee of this position will also act as the Department Head, who will maintain responsibility for the Command's Quality Program.Position Duties/Responsibilities You will act as a Quality Department Head, organizing and directing the activities of the Quality department as well as implementing and sustaining the FRCSW Quality Management System. You will conduct quality audits and investigations, analyzing the results and developing recommendations for corrections and improvements. You will ensure that verification of essential quality requirements is accomplished, deficiencies are properly documented, and corrective action is taken to prevent recurrence. You will plan and schedule work in a manner that promotes a smooth flow and even distribution; and adjust short-term priorities to meet schedules. You will establish manpower requirements and negotiate with Integrated Product Team (IPT) members to ensure adequate Quality Assurance (QA) support. You will identify requirements and initiate requests for additional resources including personnel, overtime, equipment, supplies, and space to ensure success in meeting goals and objectives. You will evaluate performance of subordinates, give instructions, provide advice, and counsel to subordinates on performance, technical, and administrative matters. You will hear and resolve complaints at the lowest level and refer grievances and serious complaints not resolved to higher level supervision. You will provide continuing assistance to all areas to resolve aviation or associated product/process quality issues as well as implement process improvements to identify and resolve safety-related issues/violations. You will interface with internal and external contacts in support of agency mission and aviation program objectives. You will accomplish other duties as assigned.
