Job Description

The Role A Safety Analyst plays a pivotal role in driving data-informed decision-making to support strategic objectives and operational effectiveness within CASA. The role is responsible for delivering data analysis, generating actionable insights, and contributing to projects that require advanced problem-solving skills. Safety Analysts leverage their expertise in data collection, processing, and statistical analysis to produce reports that influence policy, improve operational efficiencies, and aid in organisational planning.This role demands a broad understanding of data management practices and analytical software, along with the ability to communicate complex findings clearly and succinctly to diverse stakeholders. Data Collection and Analysis : Gather and process data from multiple sources to perform statistical analysis, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of information used in decision-making. Insights and Reporting : Design reports, dashboards, and presentations that translate complex data into actionable insights for both technical and non-technical audiences. Support Strategic Initiatives : Provide analytical support for organisational projects by identifying trends, forecasting outcomes, and informing strategic decisions that align with CASA’s objectives. Stakeholder Collaboration : Collaborate with internal stakeholders to assess data needs, provide technical guidance, and facilitate data-driven decision-making processes. Policy and Process Improvement : Contribute to the development and refinement of policies, processes, and procedures related to data management and analysis, ensuring adherence to best practices and compliance with relevant standards. Quality Assurance : Perform data validation and quality checks to maintain the integrity and reliability of data, promptly identifying and, where possible, rectifying inconsistencies. Research and Development : Keep abreast of industry trends, emerging analytical tools, and methodologies to enhance CASA’s analytical capabilities and effectiveness. Planning : Actively contribute to the development of team objectives for short-term tasks and strategic operational planning for longer-term initiatives. Our ideal candidate Qualifications and Experience Tertiary qualifications, or equivalent experience, in statistics, data analysis, or a related field. Key Skills and Knowledge Strong analytical skills with a focus on critical thinking, pattern recognition, and data interpretation to produce actionable insights. Technical proficiency in statistical software (e.g., SQL, R, Python, Matlab) and data visualisation tools, preferably Power BI. Proficient verbal and written communication skills to present complex data insights. Demonstrated effective time management skills. About Our Team The Air Navigation, Transformation and Risk (ANTR) Division is responsible for project managing key transformation initiatives that impact CASA’s regulatory obligations. The Division provides a range of:system enhancement, coordination, and alignment aviation safety and enterprise risk management aviation safety intelligence risk analytics services specialist services relating to:International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) technical requirements ATSB liaison oversight of air navigation, airspace, and aerodromes ANTR Division also maintains the coordination and safety systems activities that support the Regulatory Oversight and National Operations and Standards Divisions, the Aviation Safety Committee, and Australia’s State Safety Program. #J-18808-Ljbffr
