You will be accountable under broad direction to undertake complex work health and safety activities. The key activities will include: Provide specialist expertise and advice on the development and implementation of safety cases and system safety programs for Navy capabilities. Use your expertise and experience to provide specialist advice by liaising with internal and external stakeholders on complex and technical work health and safety issues, demonstrating and applying knowledge of work health and safety legislation, policies and procedures relevant to Navy and its capability systems. Work collaboratively with work health and safety specialists on safety system programs, though attendance at Safety System Working Groups and other relevant safety issues forums. You will review and assess Safety Case artefacts and reports to determine compliance with Navy’s policies and statutory obligations. About our Team The Navy Safety and Environment (NavySafE) Directorate is part of the Navy Engineering Division and works across a range of specialisations including work health and safety, occupational hygiene, compliance and risk management systems and environment protection. NavySafE is accountable for developing and sustaining Navy's Safety and Environment Management Systems and assuring Navy senior leadership that these systems are effectively implemented and maintained. The Safety Case section is responsible for Navy level policy, specialist advice and assurance activities related to Safety Cases and Hazard Logs. We are an integrated workforce, which includes military, civilian, and industry personnel with highly specialised skills and maritime experience.
