Safety and Health Coordinator We are looking for a Safety and Health Coordinator to join our team at Tomingley Gold, part of Alkane Resources Ltd. Situated near the village of Tomingley, 50 km south of Dubbo, our growing mining operation offers a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic and thriving residential mining environment. About the Role Reporting to the WHS Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting the health and wellbeing of our site personnel. Your primary responsibilities will include acting as the site return to work coordinator along with developing, implementing, and maintaining health systems, policies, and procedures to meet TGO’s operational needs. You will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and supporting the workforce through health-related initiatives. Key duties include: Contributing to the implementation of effective health systems, policies, and procedures that align with TGO’s operational needs Identifying health risks and exposures, ensuring proper controls are in place to protect all employees Exceeding health-related lead indicators, including remedial action closeout, audit compliance, hazard identification, and action close-out Ensuring adherence to all company health policies, regulations, and license conditions Serving as the Return to Work Coordinator , ensuring compliance with SIRA requirements for recover-at-work activities Coordinating the site’s First Aid Clinic and maintaining first aid resources across the site Conducting health tests, including hydration testing, hearing protection, and RPE fit testing Supporting drug and alcohol testing, site inductions, and occupational hygiene activities Developing and delivering health training and awareness programs Assisting in the management and maintenance of the Safety Management System and keeping health data accurate and up-to-date Identifying and mitigating site health hazards and risks Supporting health communication across the site through meetings, presentations, and incident reporting About You We are seeking a candidate who thrives in a team environment and brings a strong background in health and safety management. You will have experience in regulatory compliance, health systems, and training, along with the ability to effectively communicate health information across all departments. A proactive approach to problem-solving, risk management, and continuous improvement is essential. Persons with Paramedic, nursing, or workplace rehabilitation background and experience are encouraged to apply.
