The Company Established in 1996, the Rathbone Wine Group is a leading family-owned Australian fine wine group. Owned by the Rathbone family, its owners include Darren Rathbone (CEO & Group Winemaker), Doug Rathbone (Chairman) and Brad Rathbone (Export Director). Leading the group’s guiding vision, the family are also involved in running the day-to-day business operations alongside their passionate and committed team. Headquartered in Melbourne, the group is comprised of acclaimed cool climate wineries Yering Station, Mount Langi Ghiran and Xanadu. Chateau Yering, a multi-regional wine label, is also included in the Rathbone Wine Group portfolio. The Position Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Sales Director will lead, manage and direct all sales activities across the Rathbone Wine Group (RWG) portfolio, including partnering strategies. The key tasks will be: Oversee the development, management and implementation of Sales Channel plans and strategies in both domestic and export markets Deliver the RWG agreed revenue budgets as measured across all key business metrics Management of Sales team including overseeing related performance metrics, team capability development and succession planning Actively participate in the Executive Leadership Team and drive the RWG vision by modeling the values Support the ongoing development of RWG’s sales capabilities through identifying continuous improvement opportunities related to business culture, team and system The Person We are keen to hear from you if you have the following skills, experience and key attributes: Leadership skills to mentor and develop direct reports and encourage the purpose, mission and values of the business across the entire company. Experience managing a sales team, ideally in both domestic and export markets, with a strong track record of team development and market expansion Experience working in the Australian Wine Industry, ideally within the fine wine category and experience representing a boutique, high-end category Have a collaborative people management style, with an ability to work with an experienced management team and support business growth Highly adept at networking, with excellent communication skills and high levels of oral and written capability Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including an ability to build business cases and manage a broad sales budget How to Apply This is a rare opportunity to join a renowned, growing business with an envious portfolio of fine wines.
